Join us for a conversation about social and emotional learning, stress and the brain, and how to use this information to engage in meaningful dialogue with students, colleagues, and parents. Our hope is that you walk away feeling empowered and equipped to recognize and manage your own emotional needs, and enter into instructional opportunities (either in the classroom or through 1:1 conversations) with a more focused and sensitive approach.

This webinar will be conducted by Traci Cote, MS/CAGS School Psychologist, Yoga Teacher & Mindfulness Practitioner and Sheelu Joshi Flegal, MSW/LICSW, School Social Worker.

This webinar will take place on September 22nd at 7:30pm. Zoom details will be available once you register!

Traci Cote is a School Psychologist, Yoga Teacher & Mindfulness Practitioner. She has been working in public education as a School Psychologist for eleven years at both the middle and high school levels. After years of practicing yoga, she became a yoga teacher and has been able to bring that knowledge and experience into the school with staff and students. Traci is committed to her mindfulness practice, and strives to remember that each moment provides a new opportunity to breathe deeply before acting.

Sheelu Joshi Flegal has close to 30 years of experience working with youth and families in the community.  She was the director of a residential treatment facility for 15 years, where courageous conversations were daily practice.  Sheelu left residential treatment to work at a public high school in 2013 where she uses her background and experience to support staff, students and families.  Sheelu is a fierce advocate for mental health and wellness, and uses any opportunity she can to promote open and honest communication regarding this topic.
