This Online Graduate Certificate of Professional Studies (GCPS) is designed for World Language Educators and Administrators seeking additional training in World Language Methodology & Pedagogy or Hispanic Studies & Education
As part of these specialized courses, educators will:- Create specific learning targets that align with language and cultural curricular plans
- Increase abilities to differentiate the use of instructional technology based on individual student needs to support specialized courses of study
- Demonstrate the ability to design and use assessment to best reach curricular outcomes of world language or Hispanic studies
- Develop a better understanding of one’s own leadership and one’s understandings of professional relationships to develop a further understanding of educational leadership and change
- Implement instructional strategies for World Language Education that appropriately build upon individuals’ prior learning, experiences, abilities, and strengths
Students applying for the Graduate Certificate of Professional Studies must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Applicants who want to be considered for the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) Graduate Certificate of Professional Studies must submit an online pre-qualification application to Idioma Education. Once approved, applicants will receive a letter of recommendation and access to the Southern New Hampshire University online Application for Admission.
Idioma Education Pre-qualification Application for the Hispanic Studies and Education track includes:- Spanish language writing sample (2 pages): Goal statement (what you have done, are doing, and what you would like to do in the future use a variety of verb tenses and sentence structures)
- Speaking sample (2 minutes): Teaching experience (work experience, travel, and professional development)
- Bachelor's Degree in Spanish or related field of Education
- Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred
- Personal Statement (2 pages): Why does this program interest you and what do you hope to gain from it?
- Professional Statement (1 page): Teaching experience (work experience, travel, and professional development)
- Bachelor's Degree in Spanish or related field of Education
- Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred
- A completed Application for Admissions
- All official transcripts
- Copy of teaching license or letter from Administrator/Supervisor
- One letter of recommendation describing the individual's experience and potential contribution to the program.

Program Requirements: The Graduate Certificate of Professional Studies requires 15 credit hours at the graduate level. Students must complete the five courses (15 credit hours) with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to earn the certificate. In order to remain a certificate student, the student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
Tuition: Tuition rates are $1500 per course, which includes full access to Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) student resources. Tuition assistance and flexible payment options available upon request through Idioma Education & Consulting.
Required Coursework: Students need to take one Idioma course from the following five approved SNHU OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT TITLES COURSE TITLES.
