AATSP and Idioma Education & Consulting, LLC sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The AATSP and Idioma Education & Consulting, LLC have established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the pursuit of expanding access to high-quality, affordable professional development and graduate-level courses to Spanish- and Portuguese-language educators across the US. With this MOU, we confirm mutually agreeable collaboration in the development of activities and projects that grant greater global projection to initiatives for the teaching and learning of Spanish and Portuguese which can be beneficial for teachers, learners, and researchers. 

Founded in 1917, the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) (www.aatsp.org) is the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive language-specific professional  association in the United States. Their nearly 10,000 members are educators from pre-K through  graduate school who endorse our mission to promote, develop, and advance the teaching of  Hispanic, Luso-Brazilian and related languages and cultures in the United States and in other  countries. Along with the Association’s other programs, publications, like the research journal  Hispania, and projects, the Association awards scholarships to outstanding teachers and  students annually. 

Starting in the New Year, Idioma Education & Consulting will be offering awards and/or discounts to qualifying AATSP members to defray the cost of Idioma professional development and graduate-level courses and on-site/virtual workshops and coaching sessions, in addition to subsidizing educational travel and/or AATSP conference attendance.
