Course Description
This course, as a survey of Italian geography, will seek to establish a framework for encountering Italy both as a whole and in its distinctive regional identities. Topographical, political, and anthropological geographies will merge to create a unitive understanding of the Italian peninsula, its geopolitical makeup, as well as its globally impactful human cultural pageantry.
We will:
Develop a thorough understanding of universal themes pertaining to Italian geography as well as regional considerations
Reflect on personal experiences or hoped for experiences as a mode of personalizing the L2 classroom and enhance professional development opportunities
Engage in professional conversation concerning the value of geography in L2 curriculum
Develop practicable curricular solutions for the implementation of an intentional geographical element in the breadth of an L2 curriculum.

Online asynchronous (no live sessions) coursework
Weekly learning modules to complete at your own pace
Collaborative discussion boards
Instructor feedback
Optional office hours with the instructor for additional support
Students in an instructor-facilitated course must adhere to the session start and end dates listed on the website. Final coursework must be submitted within one week after the course end date. Course extensions beyond one week are subject to a $50 fee.
