Course Description
This course reimagines classroom management as intentional learning design rather than reactive discipline. In an era shaped by Gen Z and Gen Alpha learners, constant connectivity, and access to artificial intelligence, traditional models of control and compliance are no longer sufficient.
Participants will explore how attention, identity, belonging, and agency shape student engagement and behavior. The course emphasizes human-centered, relationship-driven practices, alongside the thoughtful integration of AI as a tool that can either amplify or undermine student thinking depending on its use.
Each week, participants will examine research-based strategies and apply them through classroom-based design tasks. There is a strong emphasis on implementation, reflection, and iteration, ensuring that ideas move beyond theory into meaningful classroom practice. Conducted in English.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will:
Analyze characteristics of Gen Z and Gen Alpha learners and their implications for classroom management
Design learning experiences that support attention, engagement, and cognitive processing
Implement relationship-centered and culturally responsive practices
Develop classroom systems and routines that promote independence and reduce behavioral friction
Create structures that support ethical, meaningful AI use
Design a unit plan that integrates modern classroom management principles
